Tile Calculator
Estimate how many boxes of tile to buy from your measured area, allowance and the coverage printed on the box.
How many boxes do I need?
Multiply the measured area by (1 + allowance ÷ 100), divide by the coverage per box, then round up to a whole box.
12 m² × 1.10 ÷ 1.44 m² = 9.1667 → 10
Choose an allowance for your project
Cuts, breakage and the laying pattern can change the extra material needed. The example uses 10%; it is not a universal recommendation. Check the product instructions and your installer’s requirements.
Use the coverage on the box
Nominal tile dimensions may not match the manufacturer’s stated coverage. This estimate does not create a cutting plan or include grout, adhesive, labor, delivery or tax.
